Minibus Hire Across France

Minibus Hire in Strasbourg and Alsace

Strasbourg's old centre is made for wandering, and the wine villages of Alsace are about an hour away. A minibus with a driver links the two, and takes care of the city's strict rules on where groups may be dropped.

Getting dropped in the centre

Your easiest drop is the Parc de l'Étoile: 12 places, open day and night, no permit required. To get closer, on quai Sturm, boulevard Pflimlin or rue Gustave Adolphe Hirn, a group needs either a licensed guide on board or an authorisation applied for online at least 48 hours before.

Coaches then park at the P+R Elsau. From the Étoile, the Grande Île and La Petite France are an easy stroll.

One zone for 33 communes

All 33 communes of the Eurométropole sit inside the ZFE, around the clock, and coaches are not exempt. Vehicles rated Crit'Air 4 or 5, or with no rating, are already excluded; Crit'Air 3 is set to join them in January 2027, worth knowing if your trip falls in the new year.

A German Umweltplakette does not count: a French sticker is needed. As elsewhere, these rules can still change, so check before you set off.

Alsace in a day

Obernai is about 30 minutes away, Riquewihr and Colmar about an hour, Eguisheim a little more. Three villages and a tasting fill a relaxed day. Across the Rhine, Europa-Park is about 50 minutes and Baden-Baden an hour; German towns have their own environmental zones, so check those as well.

Christmas market and cathedral

While the Christmas market runs, from late November until 24 December, traffic is kept out of the Grande Île for much of each day. Coaches follow a special plan, with overflow parking at the Zénith when it is busy, so expect to walk in.

The cathedral is free without booking, but groups wear audio headsets. For the astronomical clock at 12:30, tickets go on sale from 10:00 to 11:00.
