Minibus Hire Across France

From the ship to the day you planned

A port day is short and the ship will not wait. A minibus with a driver, ready where you come ashore, turns a few hours into a proper visit for your family or small group.

Marseille has two cruise areas

A ship in Marseille ties up in one of two places. The large Marseille Provence Cruise Terminal is entered by the port's Gate 4, signposted from the A55 at exit 5, Les Ports. Terminal J4 is the other, right by the Vieux-Port and close enough to stroll into town. Check where your ship berths before you fix the pickup.

From the Gate 4 terminals to Marseille Provence airport is roughly 21 km by road, so a fly-in, sail-out day works well for a small group with cases. Aix-en-Provence, about 31 km from Marseille, makes a gentle shore day.

Le Havre, for Paris or Normandy

Le Havre's cruise terminal sits at the Pointe de Floride, about 2.5 km from the town centre. Central Paris is about 197 km away, around 2 h 25 min in light traffic, so a Paris day means two long drives. Set the return by the ship's all-aboard time, not its sailing time.

Rules worth knowing before you go

  • Marseille's Terminal J4 is next to the Vieux-Port, within walking distance of the city centre
  • Cannes is a tender port with a gare maritime at the Vieux-Port, beside the Palais des Festivals; since 2026 the city caps cruise arrivals at 6,000 passengers a day

Coming ashore by boat on the Riviera

At Villefranche-sur-Mer and at Cannes the ship stays at anchor and small boats ferry you in. Villefranche lands you at Port de la Santé and its gare maritime; Cannes brings you in at the Vieux-Port, a few steps from the Palais des Festivals. Tender times vary, so set the pickup with some slack after the first boat you can realistically catch.

Since 2026, Cannes has allowed at most 6,000 cruise passengers a day, and tourist coaches face strict rules there, including no driving on La Croisette except for authorised set-down. The driver confirms the exact meeting point before your call.

Your questions, answered

What if the tender boats run late?

Give the driver your ship's name and keep a phone with you. Build the tour with enough margin that a late tender shortens the day rather than putting the last boat back at risk.

Can we go straight to the airport after we disembark?

Yes. Give the flight time and the number of cases. Luggage room in a minibus is limited once every seat is full, so a larger vehicle may be the better choice.

From Villefranche, how far is Nice or Monaco?

Place Masséna in Nice is about 7 km by road, around 15 minutes, and Monaco about 15 km, around 25 minutes. Both fit comfortably into a single call.
