Lille airport minibus pickups for Flanders trips and weekends
Lille's airport at Lesquin is about 18 km from the Grand-Place, so the run into town is short. It is also a handy starting point for memorial tours, Belgian day trips and weekends in Flanders.
How vehicles collect groups
Group vehicles work from the dépose-minute réglementée, a regulated area behind barriers that only taxis, buses, coaches and the like may enter. Walking on its ramps is not allowed, so wait for the driver's directions rather than walking down to look for the vehicle.
A registered car with driver displaying its VTC sticker and holding your booking can wait for you in P2 Facilité. Touting for passengers without a booking is not allowed anywhere on the airport.

Mind the barriers
The barriers at P2, P3 and P4 stop at 1.90 m, so a taller vehicle has to call an attendant over the intercom, while P1 and P6 have no height restriction at all. For now, the badge-only car park normally used by chauffeur and occasional transport is out of use, and its regulars are directed to P2.
The terminals
- Single passenger terminal (arrivals on level 2)
Handy to know at Aéroport de Lille
- The express drop-off for private cars allows a stop of 1 minute only.
- Car parks P2, P3 and P4 have a 1.90 m height limit (taller vehicles call an agent on the intercom); P1 and P6 have no height limit; P2 gives the first 15 minutes free.
- Taxis wait on the drop-off forecourt on level 2.
- Bus line 68 runs from 4 Cantons metro station, and regional coaches also serve the airport.
- The airport shuttle reaches central Lille in about 20 minutes, every day; in town it stops near Lille Flandres station, serving the station district (Lille Flandres and Lille Europe), and at the airport it stops in the drop-off area at entrance door B, departures.
Into Lille
The Grand-Place is about 25 minutes away in light traffic. In town, coaches may stop on the Place Rihour only for a few minutes to drop off or pick up, and the tourist office lists free coach parking on the Esplanade du Champ de Mars. The Braderie de Lille, next held on 4 and 5 September 2027, closes that coach park.
Lille's low-emission zone spreads across the whole métropole, its 95 communes and the main roads that cross it, at all hours. Only unclassified vehicles are banned, but every vehicle needs a Crit'Air sticker, including those registered abroad. As those rules can move, check them before travel.
Memorials, museums and Belgium
From Lille, the Canadian National Vimy Memorial, Arras and Louvre-Lens are each about 45 minutes away or less. Ypres and the Menin Gate are about 45 minutes across the Belgian border, and Bruges about an hour.
Your questions, answered
Is there a shuttle into Lille?
A daily shuttle bus gets to the centre in roughly 20 minutes and stops close to Lille Flandres station. It leaves from the drop-off area at entrance door B, departures.
Can we fly into Lille and leave from Paris?
Yes. Paris-Charles de Gaulle is about 198 km from Lille, about 2 h 05 by road, so a one-way transfer to CDG at the end of the trip is easy to arrange.
We are visiting the Western Front. How long is a day?
The memorials are fairly close together, but every stop takes time. Coach drivers are limited to 9 hours at the wheel a day, so build the day around a few key sites rather than all of them.
