Counting seats

A minibus, standard or Sprinter-style, has 9 to 17 seats including the driver, so up to 16 of you. A midicar, with 29 to 35 seats, slips through old-town streets and into smaller venues more easily than a full-size coach, which takes 49 to 57 and carries luggage underneath. For one to three people there is a car with driver, or a van-type VTC for up to eight.

Leave room for bags

Once every seat is taken, a minibus has little space left at the back. For an airport run, a golf trip or a week of touring, a larger vehicle, or fewer passengers per minibus, may serve you better.

If someone uses a wheelchair

An accessible minibus has a lift or ramp and securing points, with wheelchair positions in place of some seats, which also trims the luggage room. Let us know early so operators can be asked for the right layout.

Can I choose the exact vehicle?

The quote names the type of vehicle. The exact one depends on what the operator has available on your date.

Do we need to buckle up?

Yes, on any seat fitted with a belt, minibus or coach alike. French rules say coach transport has to use belted vehicles.

There are 22 of us. What should we book?

A midicar keeps you all on one vehicle. Two minibuses cope better with narrow roads and let the group split for part of the day.
