Nantes Atlantique pickups for weekends, weddings and visiting teams
Nantes Atlantique has one terminal and a short run into the city, about 13 km to the Château des ducs de Bretagne. Group vehicles use a dedicated professional ring road, which keeps the pickup simple once you know how it works.
The professional ring road
Coaches, cars with driver, shuttles and taxis use the anneau professionnel, a ring road right beside the terminal reserved for authorised transport professionals. Entry is by number-plate recognition under a yearly authorisation. No specific coach bay is published, so the exact meeting place is agreed when you book.
Time on the ring road is meant to be no longer than the job needs. Have the group together and the bags counted, and loading takes minutes rather than half an hour.

Weddings and guests arriving in waves
When several vehicles are needed, for a wedding or a family celebration, the airport can arrange event parking on written request. Tell us early if your guests are landing on different flights, so that request can be made in good time.
The terminals
- Single passenger terminal (aérogare)
Handy to know at Aéroport Nantes Atlantique
- In the drop-off zone the first 10 minutes are free, up to 2 times in 24 hours; car parks P3 and P5, about 400 m from the terminal, give 20 minutes free.
- The taxi rank faces the 'Arrivées 1' exit; pre-booked taxis wait in front of the car-rental building, with a meeting point under the 'taxis commandés' sign.
- Bus 38 connects with tram lines 2 and 3 at Pirmil, and bus 98 with tram line 3 at Neustrie.
- The airport shuttle runs to Nantes station (south side), Le Lieu Unique and the city centre (Hôtel Dieu), from the forecourt facing check-in desks D; it reaches the station in about 20 minutes, every 20 minutes from April to October and every 30 minutes from November to March, daily except 1 May, and is wheelchair accessible.
Into Nantes
Expect around 20 minutes to the Château when traffic is light. Inside the périphérique, Nantes runs a low-emission zone that only operates on weekdays, between 07:00 and 09:00 and again between 16:00 and 19:00, keeping unclassified vehicles out at those times, and a Crit'Air sticker is required. The métropole may revise this, so check before travel.
The tourist office, Le Voyage à Nantes, lists coach drop-off points with a 30-minute limit, such as rue Henri IV for the Château.
Day trips from Nantes
Clisson is about 40 minutes from the city, Guérande and La Baule just over an hour and Puy du Fou about 1 h 10. Mont-Saint-Michel is about 2 h 25 to the coach park on the mainland, where visitors carry on by the free Passeur shuttle or on foot.
Your questions, answered
Is there a shuttle into Nantes?
The airport shuttle reaches Nantes station in about 20 minutes, with a departure every 20 minutes in the April to October season and every half hour over the winter months, and it is wheelchair accessible. With luggage and a group, a minibus to the door saves the change.
Can a minibus use the public drop-off zone?
Professional vehicles have their own ring road beside the terminal, so that is where your driver goes. The public drop-off zone is for short visits, with 10 free minutes up to twice in 24 hours.
We are a visiting team. Can the vehicle take us to the stadium?
Yes. For the Stade de la Beaujoire, coaches drop off at car park no. 5 on the north side. Send the match and training times and the days are planned around them.
